Imran and Vasoula got talking at the gym one day and they hit it off. In October 2013 Imran proposed by a Holy Temple in the Sacred Valley of Peru whilst on vacation. Here they share their special day at the Langham London in September 2014 with our readers.

The Dress & Accessories : Vasoula bought her dress from Provonias in New Bond Street. It was a beautiful ivory lace dress with a sweetheart neckline. It went out slightly at the knees and had a short train. She wore a beautiful headdress with pearls and diamantes and a fabulous long veil trimmed with lace. Vasoula chose to wear a classic ivory pearl necklace with matching bracelet and stud earrings.

The Suit : Imran purchased his three piece navy suit from Jaeger. He wore a white shirt with a pink tie and matching hankie. A special touch were the cufflinks he wore given to him by Vasoula which noted the date of their first date and date of their wedding respectively.

The Flowers :Were created by Your London Florist in Southgate. We had a mixture of white and ivory flowers mixed with pink blush flowers and foliage. We had large and pedestal vases with the flower arrangements for the tables along with church candles placed in vases for the ceremony. Perfume bottles were also scattered around to give the vintage effect. The place looked stunning.

The Ceremony :We had a civil ceremony at the Langham London followed by a blessing from the Greek Orthodox Priest.  It was an intimate wedding with 160 guests and it was very special as our two families  and faiths came together on this special day. Father Damian of St. Katherine’s Church in Barnet specially chose a reading from the Old Testament about Abraham which embraced the three main faiths Christianity, Judaism and Islam.

The reception :After the ceremony we moved to the Rose Garden which adjoined the Ballroom and enjoyed canapés and a drinks reception. It was just like a summers day. It was perfect. After we moved into the Ballroom where we had a five course meal a mixture of vegetarian and meat dishes. We provided a Candy Cart which was enjoyed by all.

The Cake :The cake was designed and created by Carmen Tarry Cake Expectation Ltd. It was a four tier cake with ivory icing with a lace imprint on it and pearl droplets on every tier. Each tier was a different flavour: chocolate and orange, red velvet, Victoria sponge and lemon and coconut, something for everyone.

The Music : Connexions were our Greek band throughout the evening. We had a Spanish trio called ‘Andalus’ who played when I walked down the aisle with my father but also sang with the Greek priest and sang and played at the end of the ceremony, during the drinks reception and at the beginning of the meal. We also had dhol players Rhythm n Bass who are Asian drummers and accompanied the groom and his party down the aisle during the ceremony. The also performed later with our Bollywood Dancers from The Bollywood Company. We also had a DJ Tony Perry of Perrys.  Other entertainment available on the night was a magician during the drinks reception called Robert Fox, a belly dancer called Maria Louisa and a photo booth for our guests to dress up with props and take photos. We had a blast.
